I am delighted to act as your Chairman for the next two years and look forward to seeing you at our forthcoming lunches. The details of these can be found on the Bradford home page under Branch Events.
We would welcome guest speakers at these lunches to discuss relevant construction and property related business interest such as planning, housing delivery, regeneration and local economic investment. Organisations such as Bradford Council, Bradford Chamber, Leeds/Bradford Airport, Leeds City Region, spring to mind. I would be very pleased to hear your suggestions for influential industry leaders who are involved in Bradford Property and Construction Market to come along and speak with the group.
We currently have 14 members. I do have ambitions for the event to grow in success during my two year term and this can be achieved with your help. I would like to encourage members to attend as many of the eight lunches as you can, and to invite a different guest along each time to welcome fresh faces and organically grow our networking opportunities with new people and businesses.
At the recent AGM we also discussed the possibility of hosting a joint lunch with a neighbouring branch of Interact. I would welcome further discussion on this and to secure a date in 2018.
Vice Chair Person
If anyone would like to volunteer as Vice-Chair, to assist with the continued success and growth of Bradford Interact, and ideally succeed me as Chair in 2019, I would be pleased to hear from you.
Annual AGM 2018
The 2018 Annual AGM is for members only and will be held in the evening on Wednesday 31st January 5:30-7:30pm at the Wheatley Arms
Thank you for your support

Steve Oliver, Chairman of Interact UK, and Rob Seller, Chairman of London West photographed at the prestigious RAC Club in Pall Mall, where Interact hosted the Annual Interact National luncheon. In this photograph, both Steve and Rob can be seen networking with assembled members and their guests in the Great Room at the famous location in Pall Mall.
With over 500 members from across the UK, and their guests attending, the event was once again a great success. We would like to thank the catering team at the RAC Club for the excellent 3-course lunch with fine wines, and Suzanna Bester, Events Manager for the Interact Club for her impeccable organisation of this stunning annual event.
We were all in awe of our guest speaker, Simon Weston OBE who gave a very personal, emotional at times and moving talk about his experiences in the military, his miracle recovery from the major life threatening severe burns that he suffered as a result of the bombing of Sir Galahad in 1982, and how he has turned his life around, and raised a family, developed a business, alongside his continued charity work. We all took away a feeling of gratitude to the many people that serve our country and protect us from threat, and even more so that we were able to enjoy our lunch in safety and far from harm.
Steve Oliver, Chairman of Interact and Chairman of MLM Group said "We owe a huge debt of thanks to all in the armed forces, and in particular to Simon Weston for giving us an insight into his career, the challenges he faced, and how he has overcome a most horrendous attack, which would have broken any man. However, Simon's speech was truly inspiring, a story of triumph over adversity, and he is to be replaced for his quite incredible success in his personal life and career. Simon is a lesson to us all, to be grateful for what we have, and that we can overcome adversity and challenge if we put our minds to it."

On the 1 February 2017 interact held their annual HOC luncheon hosted for the first time this year by Tom Pursglove MP - Member of Parliament for Corby & East Northamptonshire since May 2015, and most recently, upon Theresa May MP becoming Prime Minister in July 2016, Tom was asked to serve as the Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Immigration at the Home Office, Robert Goodwill MP; a role he fulfils in Parliament in addition to his constituency duties.
As always this event sold out and we were able to wish a warm welcome to our members and branches (with their guests) from across the country, and I must say what a fantastic support we had with representatives from - Ashford, Bath, Birmingham, Bradford, Cambridge, Essex, Ipswich, Leeds, London, London West, Manchester South, Northampton, Potteries and Sheffield.
The format is normally Q & A's over lunch but as our host was detained on government business he joined us during our drinks reception were we had the opportunity to ask some probing questions that affect our industry, the economy and maybe the outlook post Brexit.

Interact Derby held their annual Christmas Luncheon at Pride Park FC on the 8 December 2016 and as always the event was sold out and a fabulous time was had by all. During the luncheon £10,000.00 was raised for the Titan Trust Childrens' Charity - the photo shows us handing over the cheque Felix Frixou of the Titan Trust Children’s Charity.
